In Golmaal Returns, Arshad Warsi will be seen sporting a tattoo of Saif Ali Khan on his chest.

Rohit Shetty got the idea of tattoo when the news of Saif having a tattoo of Kareena Kapoor came out in the news. It was a huge media splash.

One day, Rohit saw that the journalists were trying to get the picture of Saif’s tattoo while he and Kareena Kapoor were driving to a function.

The incident inspired him and he included it in the movie. Before doing it, he talked with Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor and they gave their consent.

Golmaal Returns Stunt

In Golmaal Returns, viewers will see Tusshar Kapoor doing a bike stunt. Tusshar Kapoor stood over a bike to woo Anjana Sukhani.

He was not attached with any safety cable. To get the perfect shot, the scene was re-shoot 5/6 times and the bike was pulled over a distance of 20/30 meters. Instead of getting scared, Tusshar Kapoor enjoyed doing the stunt. He said:

“Many people ask me if there were any special effects or cable involved in the scene where I am trying to woo Anjana Sukhani by standing atop a moving bike….However, the fact is that there weren’t any. It is just me and my bike, though to be honest, the bike is being pulled instead of moving ahead on its own.”

Tusshar and his Golmaal fame

In Golmaal, Tusshar Kapoor played the role of a mute guy. His character became immensely popular and won him several awards.

In Golmaal Returns, he is reprising the character and to become successful, the actor visited the holy shrine of Lord Tirupati in South India. When reporters contacted him, he did not admit about it. He said:

”I don’t want to comment on my visit to the temple as it’s too personal to talk about. As for the film, unarguably, we are all awaiting its release with bated breath because it’s shaped up really well. If the first GOLMAAL made you laugh, GOLMAAL RETURNS will have you in splits. I’m hoping to bag some more nominations for this one!”

Busy schedule that Kareena can be forgotten?

While Rohit Shetty was busy shooting his comedy thriller, Sunday Hindi movie in Delhi, he forgot the story sitting session with Kareena Kapoor. Rohit Shetty said:

“I was busy shooting for Sunday in Delhi and was quite hassled with all the stress I had to face due to the busy location of Chandni Chowk in Delhi. My producers of Golmaal Returns called me up and informed that they had set up a tele-conference with Kareena at 4 pm. I completely forgot about the call I had to make and next thing I know, I received a call that Kareena was willing to be a part of the film. Apparently, someone else on my behalf explained the script to her and she was game for it. It was only later that I had a detailed chat with her about her part in the film. But by that time she was already on board,”

Tusshar Kapoor-Silent

Director Rohit Shetty did not change Tusshar Kapoor’s character in Golmaal Returns because people loved Tusshar Kapoor’s mute character very much.

Most of the time, people ask Rohit Shetty whether Tusshar Kapoor would play the dumb guy in Golmaal Returns and Rohit will not disappoint them.

Golmaal Returns copy of Marathi Movie or another Hindi movie?

There have been several states:

Golmaal Returns is actually a rip-off of a Marathi movie starring Ashok Saraf, Savita Prabhune, Laxmikant Berde and Nivedita Joshi.

Another comment that the story of Golmaal Returns is copied from a Hindi movie titled, Aaj ki taja Khabar. The story is almost same, except Rohit Shetty included a ‘murder angle.’

Synopsis:

Gopal rescues an attractive woman from a criminal gang, the two are forced to spend the night on a yacht. But when his wife, Ekta, becomes suspicious about the absence, Gopal claims he was with a friend. Gopal makes up an alibi, but the story starts to fall apart and takes hilarious turns when a dead body is found and the police start to ask questions about where Gopal really was that fateful night.

Good comedy movie, with tons of laughs, which will either bring tears to your eyes and/or make your stomache hurt. Ajay, who barely smiles, makes us laugh and shares perfect chemistry with Kareena, who many times reminds us of Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki (Story of each household)!

Bollywood’s new music mantra style

Bollywood doesn’t shy away from experimenting and filmmakers are always game to bring about changes in the industry to yield better results. After multi-starrers and director duos, hiring multiple composers for one movie is the latest trend in filmdom.

Recent releases like “Firaaq”, “Aloo Chaat”, “Aa Dekhen Zara”, “Raaz - The Mystery Continues”, “Golmaal Returns”, “8×10 Tasveer” and “Sikandar” among others had multiple composers for their soundtrack.

“There are different situations in a film and each situation demands a different genre of music. The composers today are not as dynamic as yesteryears music directors like Shanker-Jaikishan, S.D. Burman and R.D. Burman. So in order to have different melodies for diverse scenes, different composers are roped in,” Mukesh Bhatt, producer of “Raaz…”, told IANS.

“More composers add different flavors to the album,” added Bhatt, who roped in Raju SinghSharib Sabri, Toshi Sabri, Gourov Dasgupta and Pranay M. Rijia to create music for his hit thriller.

But Piyush Jha, director of “Sikandar”, said that bringing in more than one music director for a project doesn’t mean that a filmmaker doubts any composer’s capability.

“It’s not that a composer is not capable of giving good music and that’s why you sign more music directors. It is just that like one lyricist has a different thought process and approach from the other, similarly all composers have particular styles as their forte,” said Jha, who has earlier made films like “The King of Bollywood” and “Chalo America”.

“Also there is no harm to try various composers for your film. Different people bring different inspirations to a film, like all actors bring varied energies to the project. Its a good trend that adds freshness,” he added.

While filmmakers rope in more than one composer to give their movie and added flavor, some composers too feel that working with others for the same soundtrack helps in churning out a healthy cocktail of songs.

“Working with other composers for a film definitely helps since everyone gives their ideas and their inputs towards the music of the film. This helps make the soundtrack better,” said Uday of composer duo Justin-Uday.

Uday worked with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Sandesh Shandilya for the “Sikandar” album.

“It is a positive thing and there is nothing wrong about it. It’s just that you should be confident. You shouldn’t feel that if you work in a multiple-composer film, your credit will go to someone else and you will not get your due. If you are good, your presence will definitely be felt,” he added.

In such an arrangement, is their scope for creative freedom?

“There is no confinement. Everyone knows what to do and works according to that. There is no overlapping,” said Sharib, one of the composers of “Raaz 2″.

Sharib is now working on the music of films like Madhur Bhandarkar’s “Jail”, Vishesh Films’ “Jashan” and Vikram Bhatt’s “Phir” besides others.

Uday also said there was no problem working with other composers.

“When you work with others on a film, you get ample creative freedom and breathing space. This is never a problem as such. As long as you are getting the credit of what you have done, there is no problem,” he said.

But there are some who don’t believe in this concept at all.

“We don’t do multiple-composer films. We are willing to be part of only OST (original soundtrack) compilations, where we retain full ownership of our songs,” said Vishal Dadlani of composer duo Vishal-Shekhar.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Sandesh Shandilya, who collaborated in “Sikandar”, too normally avoid the multiple music director concept as they prefer not sharing credits with others.

“Sandesh and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy normally don’t work for multiple composer films. It was just a gesture and they decided to go ahead with ‘Sikandar’ because they liked the idea of the film,” explained Jha.
