After bagging several awards for her Bollywood debut film ‘Ghajini’, South Indian beauty Asin has added another accolode to her kitty. The actress is all set to receive an international award for her role in Kamal Hassan`s Tamil film ‘Dasavatharam’. The Hindi version of the film released this Friday.
The award is organised by a Singapore-based International Tamil Film Awards (ITFA). The ITFA, recognizes the contribution of film artists towards Tamil cinema on an international scale. Asin will be presented with the award on May 16 in Singapore.
Asin has played a memorable role in ‘Dasavatharam’ as a touch-me-not Brahmin girl, who talks non-stop through her screen-time. With so many awards and accolades, the lady will go a long way, for sure.
The ITFA was instituted to recognize, honour and applaud all who have contributed towards the success of Tamil films at an international level. This is being held at Singapore Expo Max Pavilion. About 21 awards will be presented in various categories to the best in the Tamil film industry.
Meanwhile, it is heard that Asin is being considered for the female lead opposite Shahrukh Khan in an untitled Hindi film by Yash Raj Films (YRF). The original choice for the role was Katrina Kaif, but Shahrukh Khan preferred Asin as he wants to keep a safe distance from Salman Khan and Co. So, Katrina is reportedly out and Asin is in.
Asin is currently busy shooting for Vipul Shah’s musical entertainer London Dreams, starring veterans Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan in principal roles. Produced by the director himself, London Dreams will release in August 2009.
